Rodrigo Soares is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Ocean Engineering at the Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute for Graduate Studies and Research in Engineering. He earned his B.Sc. in Naval and Ocean Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 2021, followed by M.Sc. (2022) and Ph.D. (2025) degrees in Ocean Engineering from COPPE/UFRJ, with research focused on offshore renewable energy systems, including monopile offshore wind turbines, floating photovoltaic platforms, submarine manifold installation dynamics, and hydrodynamic studies of hydrokinetic turbines. His expertise includes advanced numerical and experimental methods, extensive experience with simulation tools such as ANSYS Fluent, OrcaFlex, WAMIT, OrcaWave, and NUMECA, and active research roles at the Wave and Current Laboratory (LOC) and LABOCEANO, with scientific contributions spanning international journal publications, book chapters, and conference presentations, as well as awards including the ABS Brasil Award and the Ozires Silva Sustainable Entrepreneurship Award.
