He earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees in Engineering from the University of São Paulo, as well as M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Ocean Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and holds academic and leadership positions at the Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute for Graduate Studies and Research in Engineering. His research expertise focuses on Naval and Ocean Engineering, particularly offshore platforms, scale model testing, deep-water systems, floating offshore structures, FPSOs, and ship roll motion.
