From May 26 to June 1, 2025, the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad is hosting the 10th International Convention of SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth). This transformative event brings together over 1,500 students and volunteers from across India and abroad to immerse themselves in Indian classical arts and values. Participants begin their days with ‘Naad Yog’ and yoga sessions at 4 am, followed by workshops with legendary artists, heritage walks, craft sessions, and film screenings. Evenings are adorned with live concerts by maestros like Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia and Begum Parween Sultana. The convention emphasizes discipline, silence, and voluntary service, offering free accommodation and meals, aiming to awaken cultural and spiritual awareness among youth.
