Following the 2024 Social, Educational, Employment, Economic, Political, and Caste (SEEEPC) Survey, the Telangana Planning and Development Society is creating a Composite Backwardness Index (CBI) for the state’s sub-castes. This initiative aims to establish an evidence-based measure of backwardness among 243 sub-castes, assessing communities across seven domains, including social status, education, and income. The effort underscores a commitment to data-driven policymaking and social equity.
